Darren and I took the Digital1 Course over a year ago. We had an excellent day! Although it was too cool to spend the day outside photographing we learned all the basics of photography at the beautiful and interesting Fort Calgary. The material was excellent, the instructors were helpful and there was sufficient time to practise the techniques we were learning. It was great to have many instructors around answering questions and give pointers. Highly recommend Learn Photography and look forward to one day taking additional and more advanced courses.

If you haven’t checked out Learn Photography Canada, do so, now! They’re all about the experience, your experience. I took one of their classes, and one of the things I loved about it was watching the other participants go from being hesitant about their camera skills, or lack thereof, and moving to confidence by the end of the day. The instructors have vast knowledge and share it in a way that is non-intimidating and fun! At the end of the course everyone was excited with the photos they were now getting and could hardly wait to get out and practice their new found skills and knowledge. Thank you Learn Photography Canada, you rock.

I took Digital I and II in April as a prep for my trip to Europe. It was a great way to regain confidence in using the manual on my digital SLR. Very handy for going into low light cathedrals and museums and then out into the full light. I took some great pics – thanks James.
I look forward to the next course, take great night pic.

Colton has taken 4 out of the 5 Courses offered. He expressed an interest at 12 years old in DSLR Photography, and wants to Learn. The courses have been exceptional for him. He’s very happy with what he’s learned, and looking forward to the Night Photography course he missed because he was sick. Colton has a natural eye for Photography, the courses have taught him how to refine his raw talent into exceptional pieces of art. The Lightroom course has helped him take those natural photos and refine them even more with computer editing.

For years I wanted to learn more about photography but never did anything about it. As a Homemaker I have no serious aspirations to take amazing wedding photos on the side or to take photos of cathedrals in Europe (although I certainly wouldn’t turn down an opportunity), I just wanted to be able to take photos of my kids growing up and enjoying the memories of what life is offering us. I wanted to be able to capture performances at school, sporting events and other activities with poor lighting or changing action. I want to be able to go for a hike or camping and capture the wonderful scenery of our backyards and to use and explore my creative side. So I bought the fancy camera……. But now what?
After some research, I decided that Learn Photography Canada seemed to provide exactly what I was looking for so I signed up for one course. The first class – Digital I was awesome. Very easy, great location, a very personable instructor and a great mix of teaching and hands on, interactive instruction. The ability to offer this in a one day class was perfect as I was unable to commit to any series of weekly or evening classes. It was a lot of information to remember in one day but it was organized effectively and handouts summarized the main points. The instructors also reached out offering us the ability to follow up with them for any questions or concerns.
I signed up for 2 more classes quite quickly. Then after the next class was just as beneficial I found myself signing up for all classes offered. In the process I meet all the instructors and each one was the same as the first – knowledgeable, personable, approachable and always willing to help or offer assistance. Each one went a little above and beyond what I expected. Even with a slight mix-up for one of my courses (which I take greater responsibility for), they worked with me to find a solution that worked.
If you are looking for classes to improve a good photography base or even if you’re starting from scratch then this company is a great place to start. They will help you decide what class/es are best for you. You will quickly become addicted to learning more.

I took the Digital I course back in February. The instructors were very nice and knowledgeable. I learned the basic in-and-outs of my camera and a lot of interesting techniques to improve the quality of my photographs. I have already suggested my friends take this course and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to get into photography!

Great courses, I’ve done three now, and can’t wait until my next one. Empowering, you will never leave your camera on Auto again. Great instructors and venues. So much individual attention.

I enrolled into learning photography at the beginning of this year . I have taken 4 courses thus far (digital 1&2 , people and night time ) I have learnt so much , I wouldn’t have half the skills i do today if it wasn’t for the amazing instructors. I actually took my dad to digital 1 as well to better his skills . Recommend to all my family and friends.
Thank you so much Learning Photography Canada 🙂
You rock !

Great course and instructions( Digital 1). Hands on for me is the best way to learn. One step at a time and practice each new step before moving to the next. I did not feel rushed through any part of the day. Looking forward to Digital 2 course. Thank you !!

Took my Level 1 Digital course today and I can’t say enough great things about it!!! Jana made it so easy to understand everything, even for an absolute novice like me, and gave me plenty of opportunity to practise each new skill as it was taught. Having the class at Heritage Park gave lots of opportunity to try a variety of subject matter to shoot – cars, Christmas decor, and even one another. (I promise to delete those, Jana!) Going to look for lots of time during this week to practise all the new tricks on my own because Level 2 is next week at the zoo and I can hardly wait!!
Only got Levels 1 & 2 as my birthday present but I’m thinking I’ll be asking Santa for even more lessons for Christmas!!

Learn Photography Canada – I can’t say enough good things about them. They are a class act organization. I took the Digital 1 course in the Fall with Glynnis – she was fantastic and I learned a ton but I didn’t have a “real” camera yet. Just got the camera I wanted and retook the course today with Jana – equally amazing instructor! It was so nice to learn some old and new ways to use my camera. Today’s class ended up being semi-private with only 2 students – how amazing is that. Most companies would just cancel. Can’t wait to take my Digital 2 class! Thanks Learn Photography, Jana and Glynnis – your professionalism and love of what you do shines bright.

I have been doing photography for almost 3 years. I took some courses from other places, but I couldn’t understand camera and photography concepts that well! Then, I joined Learn Photography Canada where they opened the doors of exploring the basics, tools, and creativity all on hands-on practice. They have extraordinary instructors that guide me through the secrets of photography and help me to build my confident. I really appreciate their well-organized work, tips and notes. Whether you are looking to learn photography to just capture moments or you are planing to take it to the second level, I strongly recommend LPC. I have taken Digitial I, II, III, people, night, and wedding courses. I am thankful for everyone Eric, Glynnis, Jana, James, John and Shelbie.
So register, take your camera, learn from LPC and I promise that your prospective will change drastically!!
My favorite quote is from Eric “Photography is an art, it is not just capturing the reality but creating what you desire, just like an artist who chose his canvas, paints and subject”

I took the begginers digital course and it is amazing how much I could learn in just a day. Jana is great and she made everything looks simple and easy. I fell much more confident when using other modes of my camera now (good bye auto mode) and can’t wait to do more advanced courses with them

LEARN PHOTOGRAPHY CANADA is an awesome team to take a photography course in Canada! I’ve always loved taking pics, but I’d only used the automatic mode on my camera … After the Digital I Course, my world is open (and clear) to photos. Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, depth of field and white balance are my paradise now! Learned about this simple things, but VERY IMPORTANT, have making my photos wonderful. Jana was very clear and funny instructor, she gave all instructions to our group and was sure if we understood every single thing. Also, she was ready to solve any problems and help us. I want to do more and more courses with them.

I took Digital I over the weekend and was incredibly happy with the course. Janet taught us and I couldn’t have asked for a more engaging and knowledgeable instructor. This is not a course where you’re just going to sit and listen to a lecture. Tons of hands-on and one-on-one instruction. Terrific jumping off point if you want to get your DSLR off “Automatic” mode!
