We are different – in a good way! Instead of sitting in a classroom after working all day for one hour a night spread over several weeks, our courses are one day only. Instead of taking notes and learning about the theory of photography, you actually work with your camera. Not for just part of the day, but all day. We teach you a technique or camera function and then you practice it with your camera. By the end of the day you’ll know your camera intimately and you will be much more confident photographer.

The Okanagan offers some fabulous locations for photography. There are wineries with their rows of “wine” trees, beautiful landscaping, awesome views of lakes, and spectacular architecture. There are city and regional parks with neat waterfalls, winding waterways, more beautiful lake views and acres of colorful flowers. Even in winter, we offer fun places to photograph. There is photography “candy” everywhere. It’s a visual feast that’s much better than looking at four walls of a classroom. There is a variety of light, color, contrast and design to challenge your photographic skills.
After working all day, do you really want to rush through dinner so you can sit in a classroom for 2 – 3 hours? How much will you retain after working all day? Also, classroom courses are generally spread out over several weeks. Can you really commit to such a long schedule? Learn Photography offers one day courses on weekends. If you’re more interested in working with your camera than learning theory, our one day courses are for you. Take a day on a weekend, practice, play, share and above all learn what you and your camera can produce. Take a day to change how you experience your camera and photography.
